A large wall can pose a few decorating challenges. Adding wall décor can be difficult because it may compartmentalize the space more than you like. It may also make the room feel too vast and bare minimizing its coziness. Here are 2 simple ways to decorate a large wall that are fairly easy to execute.
Number One: Paint it a dark colour. Paint works like magic in this scenario. A dark paint colour will minimize the size of the wall and add depth, taking away the amount of negative space that a large wall creates. Featured in my primary bedroom is Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore.
Number Two: Add an oversized Gallery Wall the entire length of the wall. This scenario works perfectly when you're trying to create fluidity in a room, such as a narrow living room with a very large wall. Our living room is long and narrow, with our couch on one end and the tv on the other. I didn't want to break up the room by only add art above our couch in turn making our TV seem too far away. The goal was to make every part of the room work as a whole. By adding 5 oversized photos across the entire length of the room I was able to achieve this.
