Hanging a gallery wall can lead to many marks and many holes in the wall. I've been guilty of this more times than I'd like to admit! I decided to try out a number of different methods in an attempt to avoid this and here's what I've found works best. All you will need is some painter's tape and a pen! Here's how to easily measure for a gallery wall.

Step One:
Use painter's tape to mark the width and where the hook is on the frame.
Step Two:
Use more painter's tape to mark the length of the frame (creating a "t" shape").
Step Three:
Mark the exact spot where the hook is.
Step Four:
Choose where you want your frames on the wall. Place the "t" shape on the wall to mark exactly where you want them.
Step Five:
Use painter's tape along the wall to create a straight line to the next frame location. This allows you to accurately position the next frame at the same height.
I hope you try this simple method the next time you're hanging a gallery wall. It will definitely save you the extra work and frustration of fixing unnecessary holes and marks in the wall.
Happy styling!
